Last week I showed you the school in Kenya. Here is Lucy’s elementary school in Djibouti, Dolto.
Front door and a few parking spots.
A classroom and play area. Also, where parents stand to wait.
Recess play area. Also, where the soccer team Tom started for kids practices. Hello skinned knees!

A classroom building.

A third-grade classroom.

This is a ‘carnival’ day. Kids dress up and do a parade around the school. Look behind the kids and you’ll see a massive yellow generator in a blue cage. This is larger than many Djiboutian homes. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Outside the front door. French flag and the Djiboutian flag, tangled in barbed wire.
Lucy and one of her best friends on the first day.
