9 Ways to Celebrate July Fourth Overseas, Babble

sweetly patriotic…wrong flag

Today I’m writing over at Babble, Into Africa, about expats, third culture kids, and July Fourth. Its pretty easy to ignore July Fourth, at least in Djibouti. But I think its important to give my kids a sense of their history and roots, even if it is only a red, white, and blue tablecloth or fireworks every other summer when we are in Minnesota and a Memory game of National Parks and Monuments.

Last year I reminded readers to not take what July Fourth represents for granted, and to be careful of assuming America is the only nation with freedom and dignity.

This year I’m providing some ideas for how to remember and teach July Fourth to our kids. Head over to Babble to read nine tips on celebrating July Fourth overseas.
